The WRAP Endowment Fund
Background
The Wisconsin Regional Artists Association (WRAA) is a membership organization of over 500 non-professional artists from across the state of Wisconsin and beyond. Members can exhibit their artwork in over 20 regional exhibit/workshops sponsored by the Wisconsin Regional Art Program (WRAP), in the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Department of Liberal Studies and the Arts. The regional exhibit/workshops began in 1940 by John Steuart Curry, artist-in-residence at the UW-Madison at that time. His mission was to encourage the artistic creativity of Wisconsin citizens in rural areas. Our present WRAP director is Professor Leslee Nelson.
University funding for WRAP has decreased recently and will diminish further immediately following the retirement of Professor Nelson.
To insure the future of WRAP, the Wisconsin Regional Artists Association has established the WRAP Endowment Fund, through the University of Wisconsin Foundation. Our mission is to raise $100,000 to prevent program cuts and keep fees affordable to all.
How you can help
Help WRAP continue for generations to come by donating to the WRAP Endowment Fund. You may wish to honor someone special--a teacher, a friend--or memorialize a deceased friend or relative with your gift. Donations may also be made through your will, deferred giving, stocks or bonds. Your donation is tax-deductable and you will receive a receipt from the Foundation. Donors are listed in each issue of WRAA's quarterly publication, Contour Notes.
